 Graduated Central High School, Helena Arkansas in 1956.

Graduated from Southwestern at Memphis, (now Rhodes College) in 1960. (B.A. in English)

Attended Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Newport Rhode Island. Commissioned Ensign in 1960. Was Full Lieutenant when discharged in 1965.

Was Engineering Officer aboard the USS Mathews, AKA96, from 1960 through 1963.

Participated in Cuban Military Operation and Thailand Military Operation in 1961.

Administrative and Personnel Officer at the Naval Air Station in Meridian Mississippi.

Left active duty September 1965 as full lieutenant. (O3)

Attended Vanderbilt Law School on the GI Bill from 1965 to 1968.

Continued in the Naval Reserves during Law School.

Have Juris Doctor Degree (JD) from Vanderbilt.

Practiced law in Franklin, Tennessee 1968 to present.

Presently serving as Traffic Court Judge for Nolensville, TN since 1998.

Immediate past president of the Tennessee Municipal Judges Conference.
